  • Graduation

Wow, I have been so busy these pass several weeks and it has been a bit since I updated!  I have promised Michelle I would update "soon" and that was probably 2 months ago!  So here goes..................

Adam finally graduated on May 29, 2009.  It was a very nice ceremony.  Much to my dismay, a lot of my pictures were blurry!  I am not very fond of my camera.  It does not do very good "action" shots.  Basically you have to be standing perfectly still and then the lighting has to be perfect for the "perfect" picture.  I may be doing something wrong, I am sure of that, but I get frustrated with that camera, wish I had my old one still, it was great!  Here are a few pictures of graduation.

IMG_3744 This is Julian and Adam in the weight room before the ceremony.  I wish I had taken a shot of the entire room, it was amazing seeing about 198 graduates, it was overwhelming to me, I have known a lot of these kiddos since they were about 6 or 7.

Fun times!  I was able to sit right on the football field with the High School faculty.  The opprotunity for awesome pictures was great!  The next 2 pictures are blurry ones and a prime example of why I am majorly bummed about how some of my photos turned out!

    IMG_3803

That is Adam high fiving Lawrencetta Alfred.....of course making her try to reach him.  The camera focused on Tiffany, don't know how that happened....

    IMG_3807

This would of been a great picture if it weren't blurry..........oh I hate when pictures don't turn out!!!

    IMG_3813

Throwing of the caps.  It took us about 15 minutes to find Adam.  About another 10 minutes to get us all together for the family shot below.

    IMG_3827

Family picture.  That is my mom in the pink.  It was really nice having her here for Adam's graduation.   Armando's mom wasn't feeling well so she couldn't make it to graduation....

    IMG_3830

I like this picture a lot even though we are all looking in different directions.

    IMG_3836

Chris Taylor and his brother Joe surprised us by showing up.  Said they wanted to see Adam graduate.  They left to go back home right after the ceremony.  We hardly had a moment to talk.  It was a great surprise.

    IMG_3857

Marilee and Jim Letts were in town and stayed for the graduation.  I love them so much!  We ate at Panjos before the graduation.  Good times.

    Adam and Crystal.........

    IMG_3817

This family is Adam's ex-girlfriend's parents, Travis and Laney Johnson along with their daughter Ashley.  They are wonderful people and they absolutely love Adam.

    Adam and Lindsey.....

    IMG_3853

Meghan and Lindsey.......Yesterday was Lindsey's 17th birthday!  Unbelievable that these two can actually say that they have been around each other since the day after Meghan was born.......Lindsey is tall :)

This is one of those moments that makes you cry, which of course I did.  This is Adam Schexinder (not sure of that spelling).  He basically lives in his wheelchair but on this night he wanted to walk up on the stage to receive his dipolma.  It was a beautiful moment.  We had another boy, Luke Klyepas do the same thing.

    IMG_3785

This is Jeremy Samora.  I love him.  He was my office aide during 5th period.  He is a sucess story and I am so proud of him.........

So, here are my pictures from graduation.  I have a ton more from Project Graduation, the after party for the graduating seniors and I have pictures, of course from Adam's night of All-Star football play.  I will post those soon, sooner than later.  I am off to finish laundry and tidy the house.  It is nice having off Fridays.  I have to post on Facebook too, I know........................

  • State Power Lifting Meet 2009

IMG_3185 Great Fun!  Meghan Marie Elizabeth Naranjo place 4th in the State Power Lifting meet that was held in Corpus Christi on March 20th at the American Bank Center!  She lifted 655 lbs. total in her weight class, so that makes her ranked 4th in state for her division!  I am soooooooo proud of her.  I expected her to do good, maybe 6th or 7th, since this was her first competition and she is only a sophomore.  What an amazing day!  I boo-hooed of course when I found out!  I couldn't talk to her right away, she was on the other side of the arena, but she texted Blaire and told her, it was great!  We had a lot of fun.  We were going to go to Joe's Crab Shack to celebrate afterwards, but the wait was 30 to 60 minutes long, so we celebrated at the Whataburger on Shoreline, upstairs mine you!  Nice memories................I know the few who have xanga still have Facebook and know all this already, but you just can't post pictures like you can on xanga or write like you can!

    Here are a few pictures.....

This one is my favorite just because she was so excited and let me take a goofy one of her!

IMG_3148 Squating 240 lbs, her max is 265!IMG_3195

This was taken at the "high rise" Whataburger!  Coach Eugenis is on the left, Samantha is next, she won 2nd in state in her weight class, Marisha in the middle, she went along to help out, of course Meggie, and then Coach Jenschke, he is the head power lifting coach.  She has great coaches!

IMG_3190 This one was taken outside the American Bank Center.  Meghan is standing on the curb!

  • Spring Break is finally here!!!!

Yippee.........I am so glad to have off this week.  This school year has been very busy but has flown by too.  Adam and Meghan both played their last soccer game last night.  For 14 weeks almost we have been going to 2 soccer games  twice a week!

    Picture 387

    Picture 401

It was absolutely FREEZING cold this night!  Drizzly and windy!  I sat in the press box for Meghan's game.

    Picture 306

The varsity boys scrimmaged the varsity girls this day....a lot of fun! That is Meghan going up against Greg.  The boys won 3 to 2.

    Picture 287

Adam resting and watching Teresa and Meghan.

     Picture 288

I am so glad Adam didn't hurt any of the girls.....

    Picture 351

Group picture after the festivities, Adam isn't in this one, he left a little earlier for baseball practice.

Adam is playing varsity baseball, decided he wanted too since this is his last year of high school, I am fine with that, what else would I do with myself if I didn't have a sporting event to attend?

Meghan made it to the State Powerlifting competition!  She qualified and will compete on the 20th of March, next Friday at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi!  Very exciting for her!!!!  Divisions 3A and 4A will compete Friday and Divisions 1A, 2A and 5A will compete Saturday.  Our Region 5 is the most competive in the state of Texas out of 6 regions.  All 6 regions will be competing in each division.  It'll be so much fun.  I will try to post pictures soon after!  I just pray she competes well and has a great experience.

Finally, it rained Thursday some, a bit yesterday and basically all day today.  So nice, we need the rain so bad.  We are about 8 inches below normal for this time of year, just for a small "weather channel" update!

Got to run, no picutres right now, none on this computer yet!  More later!  Love to you all :)

  • IMG_2803 Okay, I am FINALLY updating......I have been very busy, this school year is flying by!  Adam was named Flint Hills Scholar Athlete of the month for February.  The news people came and interviewed him, filmed him in his classroom and then outside kicking the soccer ball around.  We were totally caught by surprise with this one, did not expect this honor at all.  Here are a few pictures.....

    IMG_2819

    IMG_2828

Meghan is going to the Region 5 Power Lifting meet at Tuloso Midway on March 7th.  She lifted a total of 610 pounds between squat, bench and dead lift.  Pretty exciting for her, seeing as how she is so small......

IMG_2866 She will not appreciate this picture, but oh well :)

IMG_2885 One strong "little" girl :)

I can not wait for spring break!  Only 3 weeks away!  Last year I worked helping clean cottages for some extra cash.  This year I am just going to relax, probably play taxi for my kids, but mostly stay home........

The Varsity Soccer team won their first game Friday night against Calallen.  Now, Calallen is one of our arch rivals, along with GP.  It was so exciting, the boys soccer team doesn't get much respect at school.  They are kind of like a scrappy team and they do not have any rhyme or reason to what they really do on the field.  They do all get along very well for the most part and you can tell that they are out there having a lot of fun.  And even when the score says 9-0, which it has this year more than once already, they still play like they are going to win the game, even if there is only 50 seconds left in the second half of the never ending game!  So anyways, we won 2 to 0 against Calallen Friday night, it was GREAT!  The boys played awesome and Friday was the start of our second half of play in district, so that means we play everyone in our district a 2nd time, starting with Calallen.

First half of district we went a so sad 0-7, so so sad.......but as of this pass Friday, we are 1-0!!!  So nice!  So I am going to look at only the second half as of today, 1-0, we play this Tuesday against Ray High School, another power house team, use to be 5A, now they moved down to 4A.......which I am sure if their numbers were re-counted right now they would be a 5A..........anyways, here are a couple of pictures of our VICTORY from Friday night, miracles do happen and I am a firm believer of that, so hey, it could happen again!

IMG_2946 The faces of Victory, you had to be there to appreciate their smiles :)

    IMG_2938

IMG_2936 Meghan and Candace made the posters and the sad thing about it is that that is about the extent of our fans for boys soccer with exception of me, Mando and Chelsea and her parents sitting at the top by the press box...........The pink sign, Meghan made for Adam, it says "Go Pookie"  #20.....needless to say we heard that a lot Friday night, all the kids had a lot of fun with that nickname.....

Here is Adam's graduating class of 2009

    IMG_2932

    IMG_2933

Today is mine and Mando's 23rd anniversary, 26 years of being together.  Amazing how fast time goes by, seems like we were just in high school!  Crazy!  This picture of Mando and I was taken in 2005 for Mother's Day.  Couldn't find a more recent one, boy I look thinner :)

    DSC03267

And these last couple of pictures are for my dear, dear friend, who is very far away from me, but very close through the world of xanga and facebook!  Love you Michelle..........

I think I have out done myself with updating............I am so behind in downloading pictures and developing pictures, terrible.  Today I wanted to make cards and send out some notes, but I didn't get to that at all....Oh well, maybe next weekend :)  Hope everyone has a FABULOUS!  week................later taters!
